Student Doctor Derek Young from Omicron Theta and his wife visit a Memory Care unit at a nursing home on a weekly basis. They spend this time with patients who have been diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer's. Veterans Day Volunteer Event: November 11, 2017. SSP Zeta Alpha Chapter partnered with the Nehemiah Project to help landscape for our veteran Mr. Benny. We raked and bagged leaves, cleaned weeds and tried to clean his yard as much as we could to help him on Veterans Day. SSP collaborated with Student Association of Military Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons at GA-PCOM on this project.

Student Doctors Patrick Wallace and Laurie Bezjian from Omicron Theta Chapter, presented their research at the Spine Intervention Society this month in San Francisco. Their project was titled, “Immediate versus delayed pain reduction in ultrasound guided corticosteroid sacroiliac joint injections in conjunction with physical examination special tests”.

Induction Ceremony: April 20, 2017. 23 members were inducted into the Sigma Sigma Phi Honors and Service Society ZETA CHAPTER-Suwanee Additional Site at GA-PCOM. Ayesha Patel, outgoing SSP President hosted the event and the keynote speaker Dr. Murray Berkowitz gave an inspiring speech for the newly inducted members and their families. It was a wonderful introduction to the organization.
